OPSS requested scientific data on listed cosmetic ingredients with suspected endocrine-disrupting properties. Its 5 February 2026 update extended the submission deadline to 30 June 2026. That deadline has passed.
Which ingredients were listed?
The OPSS request names Benzophenone-1, -2, -4 and -5; ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate; triphenyl phosphate; and butylated hydroxyanisole. Consult the original list for the substance identifiers and requested information.
Follow the assessment outcome
The request gathers evidence for a safety assessment. It is not, by itself, a new ban on the listed ingredients or a published conclusion that every use is unsafe. Look for subsequent OPSS assessment publications or regulatory proposals to establish what followed.
This notice records the published call and its stated deadline; it does not establish acceptance of late submissions. Keep the jurisdiction clear too: Great Britain cosmetics guidance covers England, Scotland, and Wales, with separate guidance for Northern Ireland.
