This quick briefing covers the two EU fragrance-allergen transition dates. The transition for first placement on the market ended in July 2026; qualifying stock has a separate transition for continued supply until July 2028. The two deadlines

Under the applicable entries amended by Regulation (EU) 2023/1545, the transition allowed relevant products to be:

  • Placed on the EU market until 31 July 2026. This date has passed.
  • Made available until 31 July 2028, where the stock meets the transition conditions.

Read the condition attached to the actual Annex III entry. Some provisions expressly require compliance with restrictions applicable on 15 August 2023.

Check the placement history of the stock

A product name used for years does not by itself establish when particular units were placed on the market. Keep the relevant stock and supply evidence available when relying on a transition.
