Google's Italian beauty-search report offers three subjects worth examining in a cosmetic development meeting: PDRN, Korean skincare and tinted products. Published on 13 October 2026, the report uses Google Trends data for Italy from January to July 2026.[^1] The development recommendations below are Cosmetic Affairs' interpretation of those findings.

A useful response is to turn each signal into a question that the team can investigate. That question should identify a prospective customer need, the evidence required and the work involved before committing to a product.

## PDRN should prompt a closer look at the ingredient

Google identifies PDRN as the top-trending skincare ingredient in its Italian dataset.[^1] For a formulator, the next step is to establish exactly what a prospective supplier is offering.

Ask for the ingredient's identity, composition, source, specification and recommended handling. Define the intended topical product and proposed claims before deciding which supplier studies are relevant. Keep any gaps visible in the development brief, with someone responsible for resolving them.

An ingredient may attract attention while the proposed product still lacks a clear purpose. A useful brief should explain what the formula is meant to deliver and how the team plans to evaluate that outcome. This creates a practical basis for comparing candidate materials.

## Korean skincare can inform a more precise product brief

The report records a peak in Italian interest in Korean skincare and identifies moisturiser as the leading trending generic product associated with those searches.[^1]

Our suggested development question is specific: what experience should the moisturiser provide? A brief could describe spreading, absorption, the feel after application, packaging and the intended place in a routine. Ask the client or product team to rank these attributes and explain how the proposed product will be assessed.

For example, an illustrative project might target a lightweight daytime moisturiser that layers comfortably under other products. The team could document its chosen comparison products, evaluation questions and prototype observations. This gives development a clearer target than a broad request to make something inspired by K-beauty.

## Tinted products deserve an early planning discussion

Google reports an annual June rise in Italian searches for tinted products, with a record peak in June 2026. Tinted sunscreens accounted for most of the searches driving that peak.[^1]

For a future launch, work backwards from the intended availability date. Map the decisions needed on shade range, product performance, packaging, testing and market requirements. Assign the decisions that must be resolved before manufacturing plans can become firm.

The useful commercial question is whether the team can develop and support the intended product within that schedule. A seasonal signal can help frame the discussion, while the feasibility assessment needs its own evidence.

## Keep the search evidence within its scope

Google Trends reports relative search interest, scaled from zero to 100, rather than absolute monthly search counts. Low-volume terms can appear as zero.[^2] The Italian report therefore provides a geographically bounded input for planning. It does not establish demand for a particular professional service or predict sales of a proposed cosmetic.

In a research record, retain the geography, observation period, source and date reviewed. Keep the published finding separate from the team's interpretation. Someone revisiting the decision should be able to tell which information came from Google and which assumptions the project team added.

## Turn the discussion into a short decision record

For each prospective project, record:

- The customer question the team intends to investigate.

- The proposed product and the market being considered.

- The ingredient or formulation information still needed.

- The person responsible for obtaining that information.

- The next evaluation and the decision it should support.

- The date the team will review the proposal.

Consider an illustrative PDRN serum proposal. The first action might be to compare two supplier dossiers, identify differences in composition and decide whether either material warrants a laboratory trial. The brief should name the documents examined and the reasons for that decision.

As the project develops, connect the brief to the selected raw material, formula version, sample and test records. At the next meeting, the team can then discuss what it learned, what remains uncertain and whether the evidence supports the next investment of development time.
